INN grows in size if you use channel feeds, like nntplink, without a backlog limit. If the destination site can't keep up, INN keeps buffering in memory. After we set the flags field to Tc,Wnm,S16384 all troubles were gone.
Ofcourse now we run innfeed instead of nntplink which also gets rid of the problem.
