I'm not sure it's wrong, but also not sure it isn't. It's a kludge
attempting to circumvent several unknown CPU bugs. On some machines,
the jump _after_ the accesses helps, maybe doing a jump _before_
them would help in some other cases. Probably we should test both
possibilities, but as we don't know what's happening here, neither
way seems to be wrong.
