| |
I'm using Linux kernel 2.1.45 OR 2.1.30 on this experiment, and recent ppp (2.2.0f)
I'm trying to use ppp. Used it one year ago, and all was OK at this time (that was with 1.3.xx kernel and older pppd)
now, ppp is running, but my client machine can only see the remote machine, not the entire network.
when I look at the arp table on the ppp server, I see the proxy arp set.
But when , on another machine I try a ping on the client machine & I run tcpdump on the network, i see :
arp who-has 193.52.100.126 tell bip
but I never obtain answer !
Tried to set a proxy arp by hand (not automatically by ppp), and it exhibits the same problems. arp -a seems to give the good answers.
Is there something changed in recent kernels ? Is there a kernel option I missing ? something to change in /proc/sys/net ??
or is it broken ??
