SubjectHard lockups with 2.1.42
I'm experiencing daily hard lockups with kernel version 2.1.42 on a 100
MHz Pentium system. Unfortunately it always happens when I'm sleeping or
not home, so all I get upon return is a machine frozen with a blank screen
that I can't unblank. The machine is totally unresponsive to keyboard
input or network traffic. Nothing in the logs, either -- the logging just
stops at the point of lockup.

I must say I find this fascinating, I haven't had lockups this hard on
Linux in years. :-)

Anyway, here's my .config file for the kernel I'm running. If I can get
any more information I'll post that too.

(FYI, I build these kernels for multiple machines, hence all the
extra SCSI and network drivers. I haven't tried it on any other machines
yet however. In this particular case, the hardware is a 100 MHz Pentium
with an Adaptec 2940U SCSI card, a 3c509 network card, a Trident 9660 PCI
video card, and a SB16 Viba PNP sound card.)
