I just tried out ibcs-970212 with pre-2.0.31 and found that it didn't work. Loading bombed out with
apic_reg undefined Loading failed! The module symbols (from linux-2.0.30) don't match your linux-2.0.30
The problem is that SMP is configured as default ibcs2; however, my non-SMP kernel does not provide that symbol.
Would it be possible to supply a dummy apic_reg so that the same binary module can run on both SMP and non-SMP kernels? Or would this break and burn something, horribly? -- Thomas Koenig, Thomas.Koenig@ciw.uni-karlsruhe.de, ig25@dkauni2.bitnet.
