On my Dual Pentium 166 MHz machine running SMP, I have discovered a
repeatable problem. It is possible to make it just STOP! No errors
no obvious problems. After it stops, there is no response to the keyboard,
nothing at all. The CPUs __seem__ to be halted with the interrupts off.
This is evident by the chip temperature rapidly returning to room temperature.
There is no bus activity except for an approximate 26 us CAS for refresh.

I have been running various "torture" tests on the SMP machine. The test that
will cause it to halt is a "database" test that is attached (it's a small
compressed tar file).

Using the included script "cont", I execute 3 copies of the database program.
The CPU will halt after about 20 seconds.

This is the SCSI driver. No external drives are attached, and the internal
drives are connected with a SHORT cable properly terminated on the far end.
The controller is set for "auto termination" on its end. This has been
shown to be reliable. My previous external cables were not, even though
they were properly terminated, etc. This SCSI Controller sucks and will not
properly drive normal length cables.
