I installed a dual-Pentium 166 MHz TYN TOMCAT (Intel Chipset) Mother-Board
this weekend on one of my machines.

It seems to work fine. However, If I enable SMP, rebuild the kernel and
reboot.

Feb 17 08:24:19 quark kernel: Total of 2 processors activated (132.71

The following problems occur:

o Hangs on "setserial"... comment that out on startup.

o The network daemons die with problems with select().
Feb 17 08:28:07 quark portmap[52]: svc_run: - select failed: Unknown
error 514
Feb 17 08:28:07 quark portmap[52]: run_svc returned unexpectedly
Feb 17 08:29:41 quark inetd[54]: select: Unknown error 514

o Some network daemons die with simple socket() function calls
such as accept():

Feb 17 08:24:31 quark sendmail[79]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): getrequests:
accept: Error 512

I understand that this is "experimental". Is there anyone working on
this mode and, do they have anything that they want me to try?

Cheers,
Dick Johnson
