I am reporting a bug and fix in sd.c from linux 2.0.29. It seems that when a scsi disk with bad block size is detected it isn't properly removed from the valid drive list. check_partition (in genhd.c) is called and the whole boot process goes crazy.
I have traced the problem to the routine sd_init_onedisk( int ) in sd.c insert at line 1210 (after sd_template.nr_dev--;)
sd_gendisk.nr_real--;
Thanks.
