I tried it with a MultiTec PCMCIA modem with ppp and direct sessions as
well as checking whether my Adaptec SlimSCSI gets detected. No problems
so far on Kernel 2.1.25.

The only thing was (I didn't investigate further because I was in a
hurry when I saw that problem) that unloading of the modules caused an
oops that wasn't fatal. I can investigate further if interrested. (I
can't remember whether it was a pcmcia module or the standard modutils,
190118 or some such).
