The MMX chips seem to give a higher bogomips than the PPro ;). Oh BTW there is a bug if you try and run the SMP kernel on an MMX chip because its stepping B of a pentium and the kernel blindly assumes B stepping + SMP + pentium = bug. I've added a patch to avoid this. The MMX's I've seen don't seen to have APIC's however
