Yes, I did test that fix out. My machine is still up and running with no
panic messages what so ever after having run the exploit code multiple times
with varying amounts of file handles available from 1024 to 4096. Inodes
were from 3072 to 8192. The only problem I encountered was with small
numbers of file handles, the system would end up filling the file handle
table up and I would get a file table overflow. That was easy enough fixed
by simply killing the exploit code. With 2048 or more file handles, the
exploit code that was posted had absolutely no effect on my machine what so
ever.
