Realy, there must be something broken with your libc installation. It _compiles_ fine on here with libc5.4.33. Are you sure you haven't any stale glibc header around? The above error messages are indicating this.
Anyway, may I propose to continue this discussion (if needed) on linux-msdos@vger.rutgers.edu, because this realy isn't kernel related. ^^^^^
