What you describe is Sun's vold(8), whose guts I throroughly hate... It's hard to handle stuff like inserting a DOS or ext2 floppy (one after the other :-), think about a plain tar or cp to the diskette. Oh, and there are weird floppy formats (higer-density, anyone?) and then broken/not formatted ones. And there are those weird floppy drives that are really tapes, or that handle either 1Gb "floppies" or regular ones.
Won't work right enough without a _really_ massive effort. -- Dr. Horst H. von Brand mailto:vonbrand@inf.utfsm.cl Departamento de Informatica Fono: +56 32 654431 Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria +56 32 654239 Casilla 110-V, Valparaiso, Chile Fax: +56 32 797513
