System works flawlessly for me - entirely narrow devices at this time
*sigh*. [2 harddrives (1 is SCSI-1!), old cdrom, 1.3G dat tapedrive]

incidentally - this system does NOT boot with 2.0.30 or before - but works
fine with 2.0.30pre10 [haven't bothered trying 2.0.31+ - I need the 2.1
kernels... :]
(advice : don't use the redhat kernels if you only have narrow devices on
2940UW.... either that or, as you said, disable wide SCSI...)

Though one thing I've noticed is that before 2.1.60 (sometime in the
2.1.5x line actually) the driver didn't like my 250M SCSI-1 drive - but
likes it just fine now :)

G'day, eh? :)
