After I installed my new Ioemga ZIP I started to get timeouts the disk
where my root partition is. It is only when I run Linux i get timeouts and
lockups. DOS and NT runs without a problem. The SCSI card is a
Adaptec 2940U. Below is the id's.

ID0: Quantum Harddisk
ID1: Fujitsu Harddisk <- Linux root + swap + /usr partition
sdb1 is root, sdb2 is swap and sdb3 is /usr
ID2: Quantum Harddisk
ID4: Nec CDROM
ID5: Iomega Zip

the Zip-drive is external. Can it be that all my devices run synchronous
but the Zip-drive is asynchronous? Or can it have something to do with
Plug and Play SCSI support?
Terminations is set correctly. The timeouts does not have anything to do
with corrupt media or Zip-drive go to sleep, that I do know.
Mail me if you need any more information.

/Gustav
