I don't know if this is the right place to ask, as I don't know if it's kernel related, but...
I've been having problems with processes that will not die. For instance, I have a script that runs ftp every few minutes to upload documents, I call it with ftp -n < commands.file& and yes I do have "quit" in the commands file. But after the ftp is complete the process does not end, it just sits around eating up memmory. The same thing seems to happen to my rc.M script, today I found it just sitting in the PID list using up 12% of my memmory, for no apparent reason. Can anyone explain what's going on? Thanks,
