Subjectundying process, why?
I don't know if this is the right place to ask, as I don't know if it's
kernel related, but...

I've been having problems with processes that will not die. For
instance, I have a script that runs ftp every few minutes to upload
documents, I call it with ftp -n < commands.file& and yes I do have
"quit" in the commands file. But after the ftp is complete the process
does not end, it just sits around eating up memmory. The same thing
seems to happen to my rc.M script, today I found it just sitting in the
PID list using up 12% of my memmory, for no apparent reason. Can anyone
explain what's going on? Thanks,
