I recently upgraded to kernel 2.0.18. Somewhat after mounting the FAT filesystem, I got a whole bunch of errors. This is on a P5-100 with two ide drives. /dev/hda is the first, /dev/hdb is the second. /dev/hda1 is the only partition on /dev/hda and it is completely FAT.
Here is the output of df
Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on /dev/hdb1 29735 20258 7942 72% / /dev/hdb6 540528 70374 442234 14% /home /dev/hdb3 347407 293876 35589 89% /usr /dev/hdb5 198275 6994 181027 4% /usr/local /dev/hda1 712432 396080 316352 56% /DOS
Here are the errors
. . . 03:01: rw=0, want=933997, limit=712624 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:01: rw=0, want=933997, limit=712624 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:01: rw=0, want=933998, limit=712624 attempt to access beyond end of device 03:01: rw=0, want=933998, limit=712624 Filesystem panic (dev 03:01, mounted on 03:41:5795) FAT error Filesystem panic (dev 03:01, mounted on 03:41:5795) fat_free: deleting beyond EOF
What should be done about this?
TIA,
-sen
