Linux is great.. last year, I had a web page running on my 16 meg 486/66 which got 50,000-300,000 hits a day, plus constantly doing automatic image manipulation with ImageMagick. It ran at 125+ load average for about 48 hours.. Then I realized that I would actually like to be able to use my computer, so I killed httpd and moved the page to a different computer. My computer continued to run perfectly for at least two more weeks before it was eventually rebooted in order to use MicroSloth Word.
This year, I plan to put the web page back to see what my Dual PPro 200 w/64 megs RAM will do.. :)
