SubjectRe: msdos fs + ram disk?
Steven S. Dick:

: If I write an msdos image to the ram disk and then try to mount it,
: the contents of the ram disk are lost. The mount succeeds, but the
: mounted directory is empty afterwards, and after unmounting,
: the ram drive has been zeroed.

: Mounting minix and ext2 filesystems on the ram disk works fine.

This question has been answered less than a week ago on this list.
The difference between msdos and ext2 is that the former uses
blocksize 512. But changing blocksize implies throwing away the cache.
A patch was posted too.
