I too have this problem. I am running a Gateway 2000 P5-90 (overclocked to
100MHz), Adaptec 2940 controller, 1.1GB SCSI drive (maker unknown right
now). This exact same kernel config file works fine using Linux 2.0.21

P.S. Linus: thanks for the wonderful kernel for us to run our applications
on! :-)
