Try running "Netscape -install". Netscape wants to use many colors, and so do most other X11 applications. This "-install" will tell Netscape to run with it's own color palette "installed". The screen will flicker when your mouse moves into/out of the Netscape window but the graphics will always look correct. (Don't worry, this does not "install" anything permanently onto the system, it just tells Netscape to use it's own private palette.)
