SubjectAssembly and porting
What exactly needs to be written in assembly to port Linux?

I'm getting hold of an assembly manual for a computer I'm too
humiliated to admit I own. It would be so wonderful to make it run
Linux, I just can't express it. :-)

From what I understand, the following would need to be written:
bootstrap code to start up
low-level driver stuff

Help me out.
