Sure, those guys who report `make` errors are just a bunch of ninnies. It doesn't happen to me, therefore it doesn't happen to anyone, right?
Bzzzttt.
# cd /usr/src/linux # make > make.notes 2>make.errors & # cat /usr/src/linux/make.errors
init/main.c: In function `init': init/main.c:966: warning: implicit declaration of function `fade_bootlogo' floppy.c: In function `interpret_errors': floppy.c:1396: virtual memory exhausted cpp: output pipe has been closed make[3]: *** [floppy.o] Error 1 make[2]: *** [first_rule] Error 2 make[1]: *** [sub_dirs] Error 2 make: *** [linuxsubdirs] Error 2
Version stuff:
GNU Make version 3.74 gcc version 2.7.2 Linux reflections.mindspring.com 2.0.0 #1 Sun Jun 9 15:30:43 EDT 1996 i586 libc.so.5.2.18
This happened after I loaded the patch for 2.0.1. The machine has X and some other things running. No other compiles or db ops, etc., though.
This is an FYI posting. Please take it as a friendly report, rather than as flame-bait.
