hi,
I played around with ppp this weekend, and found that:
when you set "kdebug 7" in /etc/ppp/options, then, after a ppp-connection has been established once, (at least) an "ifconfig" will print your initial (or part of) boot-messages to syslog (which in return will throw it to whereever /et/syslog.conf...etc..)
I've seen this before with other software than ppp and would say this comes from a missing LF "\n" in some of the printks. I've already searched for it, but didn't find it....
nb: I'm talking about serial-line ppp, not isdn-ppp.
