SubjectIPX interface delet bug (was Re: Linux-2.0)
In linux.kernel you write:

Deleting an IPX interface still fails with 1.99.13. I run IPX over
ppp, and when pppd shuts down it attempts to delete the IPX interface
that was created. This fails:

Jun 6 23:00:08 osiris kernel: Linux version 1.99.13 (storner@osiris.ping.dk) (gcc version 2.7.2.l.3) #12-pre-2.0 pre-2.0 Thu Jun 6 18:04:43 MET DST 1996
Jun 6 23:15:43 osiris kernel: PPP: version 2.2.0 (dynamic channel allocation)
Jun 6 23:15:43 osiris kernel: PPP line discipline registered.
Jun 6 23:15:44 osiris kernel: PPP BSD Compression module registered
Jun 6 23:15:44 osiris kernel: registered device ppp0
Jun 6 23:15:44 osiris pppd[323]: pppd 2.2.0 started by dialout, uid 500
Jun 6 23:15:44 osiris pppd[323]: Using interface ppp0
Jun 6 23:15:44 osiris pppd[323]: Connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/modem
Jun 6 23:15:47 osiris pppd[323]: Remote message: Login ok
Jun 6 23:15:47 osiris pppd[323]: local IP address 172.25.99.26
Jun 6 23:15:47 osiris pppd[323]: remote IP address 172.25.99.202
Jun 6 23:15:47 osiris pppd[323]: Compression enabled
Jun 6 23:22:19 osiris pppd[323]: Terminating on signal 15.
Jun 6 23:22:19 osiris pppd[323]: ioctl(SIOCAIFADDR, IPX_DLTITF) 22: Invalid argument
Jun 6 23:22:19 osiris pppd[323]: Connection terminated.
Jun 6 23:22:19 osiris pppd[323]: Exit.
Jun 6 23:24:43 osiris kernel: PPP: ppp line discipline successfully unregistered

Unfortunately, it also fails on the remote end (also running 1.99.13).
The failure causes future attempts to use an IPX interface over the
ppp link to fail entirely, unless the the IPX address is changed.
