Sadly the above was a bit too close to what really happened with pre2.0.13,
because pre2.0.13 breaks both incoming telnet and rlogin. So forget the thing
about pre2.0.13 being the "final pre-2.0", and get instead -- wait for it:

[ ominous background music ]

The all-new-and-bugfixed pre2.0.14!

Now, THIS one is ok. Promise. We're in the "final pre2.0" phase again,
