Ran a recursive rm down a 30Mb source tree today. I ended up with a nearly deleted tree and an "rm" process that just kept on running. The tree was removed with another rm, and the filesystem itself proved clean enough.
The process was stuck in a loop somewhere in Kernel-land I assume, as I couldn't terminate it. Ended up changing into single user mode to unmount and fsck the filesystem. Still had this damn rm running chewing up all idle CPU time.
*cough* Haven't been forced to reboot my linux system in a long, long time. Might be about time for the patches to start flowing.
rm - fileutils 3.12 (latest AFAIK) kernel - 2.0.0 -- Packrat (BSc/BE;COSO;Wombat Implementor) Nihil illegitemi carborvndvm.
