Not necessary, really. Check out RedHat's pages from time to time, they released a new RPM that fixes the init-scripts (and several other 2.0 updates and fixes, too).

The RPM you need is:
ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat-3.0.3/i386/updates/2.0-kernel/RPMS/initscripts-2.52-1.i386.rpm
My initscripts tree seem to be fine (relative merits of slackware vs. redhat delicately ignored, but you can guess what I like). >=-)>
