I have 1.99.10 (pre 2.0.10) kernel. At boot I get these errors. I have a 486 DX4/100 with ALI EIDE controller on-board and I've compiled the support for this controller on my kernel. These are the interesting messages at boot.
ide_setup: hda=autotune ide_setup: ide0=autotune ide_setup: ide0=ali14xxali14xx: base= 0x0f4, regOn = 0x30
hda: PIO mode3, t1=180ns, t2=80ns, cycles = 3+3, 3+3 ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14
Both with the ALI support activated or not, at boot, I get seldom fsck error (even if i correctly shutdown my Linux box) and ALWAYS this error at boot :
hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 ide0: reset: success hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 ide0: reset: success hda: read_intr: status=0x59 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest Error } hda: read_intr: error=0x01 { AddrMarkNotFound }, LBAsect=894061, sector=71533 end_request: I/O error, dev 03:02, sector 71533
What has happened ? Is something badly configured or is my hard disk somewhere broken (maybe at sector 71533)? What can I do? Should I back up and update a Bad-Track-Table with BIOS features or fdisk ?
PLEASE HELP !!!!!
