Are there any plans to get the patches for the kernel logging into a kernel soon? The 'dmesg -n X' service doesn't have any effect on kernel logging because of this problem.
It's annoying to lose all the useful trace messages in the message ring buffer because of 'lp1 out of paper' or suchlike! I use 'dmesg -n 5' at start-up to get rid of this, but the kernel doesn't support it properly and it doesn't work. Patches are available.
