In a few recent kernels, I've observed that sometimes, a NFS socket seems to keep data around:
Active Internet connections Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address (State) User [...] udp 3403 0 129.13.110.66:662 129.13.253.10:2049 ESTABLISHED
They seem to be thrown away with the next operation on the directory, or so it seems. I've observed no ill effects, but this still seems strange. -- Thomas Koenig, Thomas.Koenig@ciw.uni-karlsruhe.de, ig25@dkauni2.bitnet. The joy of engineering is to find a straight line on a double logarithmic diagram.
