Yes, just say 'make bzImage' or 'make bzlilo' or 'make bzdisk'. ( the 'b' stands for 'big' ) The resulting image gets loaded directly high, however, you then need the newer versions of LILO/LOADLIN/SYSLX (lilo18, loadlin-1.6, syslx-3.0) _and_ a kernel >= 1.3.73
