I was compiling a kernel for a host called cuatro and, silly me, I put the kernel in a directory called /usr/src/linux.cuatro (and made a link /usr/src/linux pointing to it).
Well, it fails in a most horrible way in make dep.
The reason seems to be that the directory name matches .c, though I haven't studied it much (I changed the directory name :-)
