Hello I'd like to know ( if it's not a problem) what is the SIZE field reported by top. Top under kernel 1.2.13 displays: PID USER PRI NI SIZE RES SHRD STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
czar 27 0 103 456 476 R 11.4 4.0 0:05 top
under 1.3.100: PID USER PRI NI SIZE RES SHRD STAT %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND
czar 17 0 888 464 296 R 22.3 6.6 0:01 top
Look at the SIZE field: for same process it is greater eight times on 1.3.100. It is not only for top process, bash for example on 1.2.13 has 100+ k, and on 1.3.100 it has 1100+ k.
