Hmm, I assumed that this meant the option to delete unused architectures from the source tree *after* you've gotten the whole thing. In other words, typeing "make intel_only" would go through and remove all the sparc, m68k, alpha, etc stuff from the source tree to save space.
Perhaps you can do this by simply deleting the stuff under linux/arch/? Or, did I misunderstand the point. Was the original author talking about splitting the distribution? That seems like a bad idea.
