As some one else said, I've always preferred GNU-based Linux system (and I'm not trying to be facetious). There's probably no point in arguing about which perspective is correct, etc.; in either case, I think it's important to admit how dependent Linux (widely construed) is on GNU software (my machine, at least, would be fairly worthless without GNU stuff).
