Yes, trying to push a huge flood of messages thru sendmail does have its disadvantages. You will propably get them faster straight from VGER, than via re-exploder, though it will slow down the vger quite a bit.
The machine (puck) is small 486 with IDE disks, VGER is big (at least the box) SPARC.
Dave receives messages straight from VGER thru special "rutgers.edu"-channel, thus he sees fast turnaround.
