If you're using Qemm 8.0, it may, instead, be a problem for Quarterdeck. If 8.0's your version, try disabling QuickBoot by adding "BE:N" to your qemm386 line in config.sys.
I don't know if that will fix things for you, but I do know that their new version certainly needs some work. For example, my CMOS has an Advanced Power Management feature which I keep disabled, and Qemm silently re-enables it when I use QuickBoot, but not otherwise.
