Why not use something like this somewhere in rc.d:
ln -s /usr/src/linux-`uname -r`/include/linux /usr/include/linux

Has the positive aspect, that you have always the right header files,
because the kernel revision doesn't change after booting, and you don't
bloat the valuable kernel memory?
