Please post the boot messages - my crystal ball is in the shop being repaired, and my psychic abilities are impaired after the party last night. (I'm trying to make a point here, gently, and with humour :*)
It also wouldn't hurt if you told us what model of CD-R drive you are using (assuming it isn't detected and shown in the boot messages).
