I'm people and I expect 1GB=2^30, 1MB=2^20, 1TB=2^40, 1EB=2^50, etc.
While someone said "Iomega Zip drives should count", well let me say this: I think Iomega Jaz drives should count! Mine is 2^30 bytes long.
If I'm wrong, then the kernel *DEFINATELY* needs changing so I won't make that mistake. Standards are standards. If you want to talk about a million bytes, call it a million bytes, not a megabyte. Ditto billion vs. giga.
