How many SCBs / device are you using? Do you have SCB paging turned on?
How about tagged queueing? Is that the _only_ SCSI device you have?

You might want to forward your message to the Adaptec AIC7XXX developers
mailing list (aic7xxx@freebsd.org - a majordomo site).

Note: if you only have 1 SCSI device, it is best to disable
disconnect/re-connect in the BIOS.
