I have the same kind of error with an archive viper DAT. It's ok to read DAT, but if I try to write, I get those errors.
After 2/3 of those errors, the machine freeze. I once saw a message like this : "scsi_free:Trying to free unused memory"
I had some e-mail with the driver's author , (january 96 ?) and I remember he said he hadn't had time to develop the driver further. So if someone with enough scsi knowledge can figure what's wrong ...
I'd really like to see this fixed. On the other side, the driver is working perfectly well with disks, so it's not an high priority for most people, I think.
