Ahh true, but those  

/usr/lib/libc.so: undefined reference to `__p_pr'
/usr/lib/libc.so: undefined reference to `__p_fgname'
/usr/lib/libc.so: undefined reference to `putshort'

Are from 5.4.8, which had a few typos that caused those errors..

So, I'd say the guy didn't install them properly...
