Subjecttiny 2.1.0 zImage
With 2.1.0, when I do "make zImage" I get a tiny zImage, only 19085 bytes! 
This is using gcc 2.7.2.1 (results were the same with 2.7.2) and GNU
binutils dated 960228. I have no problem compiling Linux 1.99.4.

tools/build bootsect setup compressed/vmlinux.out CURRENT > zImage
Root device is (3, 2)
Boot sector 512 bytes.
Setup is 4336 bytes.
System is 13 kB
sync
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/arch/i386/boot'

While I'm all for avoiding kernel bloat, this one doesn't even boot.
