I might be stating something completely obvious here, but if we're talking about "Magic SysReq", isn't "you have to have console access to the machine" secure "enough"?

well the keyboard and the monitor may still be "far" from the 'puter... and the 'puter may be in public use... so being able to block magic sysreq on a system without rebooting to a kernel without it would be cool... (block as in still have it behind some "top secret" run-time configurable thing... as in root-accessable /proc config thingy or something) [and for those few who think about control-alt-del: init can secure that one easily]
