If it helps, this patch is simply to fix the dtc warnings that you mentioned in your post on devicetree-spec@. Without this patch, with "make dtbs_check", the following warnings are generated:
DTC Documentation/devicetree/bindings/riscv/cpus.example.dtb Documentation/devicetree/bindings/riscv/cpus.example.dts:75.25-35: Warning (reg_format): /example-1/cpus/cpu@0:reg: property has invalid length (4 bytes) (#address-cells == 2, #size-cells == 1) Documentation/devicetree/bindings/riscv/cpus.example.dtb: Warning (pci_device_bus_num): Failed prerequisite 'reg_format' Documentation/devicetree/bindings/riscv/cpus.example.dtb: Warning (i2c_bus_reg): Failed prerequisite 'reg_format' Documentation/devicetree/bindings/riscv/cpus.example.dtb: Warning (spi_bus_reg): Failed prerequisite 'reg_format' Documentation/devicetree/bindings/riscv/cpus.example.dts:73.23-84.19: Warning (avoid_default_addr_size): /example-1/cpus/cpu@0: Relying on default #address-cells value Documentation/devicetree/bindings/riscv/cpus.example.dts:73.23-84.19: Warning (avoid_default_addr_size): /example-1/cpus/cpu@0: Relying on default #size-cells value
When the patch is applied, dtc doesn't report any of these warnings.
Let me know if I'm missing something obvious.
