With my recent patches it would suffice to replace above line with:

if (led_cdev->flags & LED_INIT_DEFAULT_TRIGGER) {
pattern_init(led_cdev);
led_cdev->flags &= ~LED_INIT_DEFAULT_TRIGGER;
}
