one thing that it changes is that now when you squash commits
# This is the first patch
first patch commit messages
# This is the second patch
second patch commit message
# ------------------------ >8 ------------------------
those "# This is the first patch" and "# This is the second patch" won't be removed automatically. takes some time to get used to it.
