I'm not particularly concerned about the master branch being up-to-date, I'm more concerned about the repo's tags being up to date, so perf --version will work correctly.
If you don't mind publishing all your local tags, and you don't want to 'push --tags' every time, adding this line to acme.korg's remote config section will do it automatically:
push = +refs/tags/*
